# Payment History

> View the complete payment timeline for any invoice, including all recorded payments, dates, amounts, and remaining balance information.

# Payment History

Every invoice has a full payment timeline showing all recorded payments.

## View Payment History

1. On the Invoices page, click the **dropdown menu** (three dots) on any invoice
2. Select **"View Payments"**
3. The payment history panel shows:
   * Each payment: date, amount, method, who recorded it
   * Running balance after each payment
   * Total paid vs total due at the top

## Timeline View

Payments are displayed chronologically with a visual timeline:

* **Date** when the payment was received
* **Amount** paid
* **Method** (Check, Wire, Zelle, ACH, Credit Card, Other)
* **Recorded by** (who entered the payment)
* **Running balance** after this payment

<Info>The running balance updates in real time. If the balance reaches \$0, the invoice automatically moves to "Paid" status.</Info>

## Empty State

If no payments have been recorded, you'll see "No payments recorded yet" with a prompt to record the first payment.
