# Idea Financial Business Funding

> Send a business, revenue-based funding application to Idea Financial from the same Submit you already use, filled with the client or sent to them to finish.

Idea Financial is a business lender. It underwrites the business on its revenue, not the
owner's personal credit alone, and reviews every application for both a **term loan** and a
**line of credit**. With the **Idea Financial business funding** Labs card turned on, the term-loan
Submit dialog gains one extra choice: send the application to the offer marketplace as usual,
or send it to Idea Financial instead. You can fill the application with the client on the
call, or send them a link to finish it themselves.

<Warning>**Sandbox only for now.** Every Idea Financial request this app makes goes to Idea's sandbox, a test environment. Statuses and offers you see here are not live Idea Financial results, and nothing is funded. Idea Financial's live connection is a separate, later change.</Warning>

<Info>This is a Labs feature. It is visible to every account and off by default. Turn it on under **Settings → Labs**, or ask your agency admin to turn it on for you.</Info>

## What changes when the card is on

Open a client, choose **Generate Offers**, and fill in the application as you always have. A
new **Send To** choice appears under Submission Method:

* **Offer marketplace** — today's flow. Personal term-loan offers come back and you share them
  with your client.
* **Idea Financial** — files a business funding application with Idea Financial. Idea reviews
it for a term loan and a line of credit; there is no way to ask for only one. Nothing is
  sent to the marketplace.

Pick one. Each Submit goes to exactly one destination. Choosing Idea Financial does not lock
the client out of anything else: **Generate Offers** stays available for marketplace offers on
the same client.

### Business details

Choosing Idea Financial adds a **Business details** section under Send To. It shows the
business name, EIN, structure, start date, monthly revenue, and business address from the
client's CRM record, so you can check them and fill in what is missing without leaving the
dialog. Your changes are saved back to the CRM record when you submit or send the link.

If the account does not have one of these fields yet (for example **Business Structure** or
**Business City**), the app adds it to the account's CRM custom fields the first time you save
a value in it. You do not need to add these fields to a snapshot first.

### Fill it live or send it to the client

Both submission methods work with Idea Financial:

* **Submit now** — you complete the owner details with the client and submit. The dialog is
titled **Submit to Idea Financial** so it is clear where the application goes.
* **Send to client to complete** — complete the **Business details** first: the client's form
asks for their own details, not the business's. The client receives an email or text with a
pre-filled link. The link opens a business term-loan version of the application: the client reviews
their details, adds their SSN, agrees to share the application and the bank statements on
file with Idea Financial, chooses whether to consent to automated calls or texts, and
submits. Communication consent is optional and the submission records the client's actual
choice. They see a confirmation with the Idea application number instead of marketplace
  offers.

The link only works for the client it was sent to. It carries a signed code tied to that
contact and expires after 30 days. If the link is altered, missing its code, or expired, or the contact no
longer matches the account, the client sees **"This application link is no longer valid"** as
soon as they open it, and you can send a new one. If Idea Financial cannot accept the application, for example
because bank statements are missing from the CRM record, the client is asked to contact
you so you can fix the record and resend the link.

### From the Revenue Based workflow

On a Revenue Based file, the **Submit to Partner** step shows an **Idea Financial** section
while the Labs card is on. **Submit to Idea Financial** opens the same dialog already set to
Idea Financial. This is in addition to the lending partner the step recommends: it does not
change the partner routing, and the step still completes the way it always has, by confirming
the deal package went to the partner.

## What Idea Financial needs

Idea Financial underwrites the business and its owners. Have these ready before you submit:

* **Business**: Business Name, 9-digit **EIN**, Business Structure, a Business Start Date (or a
Time in Business already on the CRM record), and a physical Business Address. The
**Business details** section marks what is missing before you submit. Business Structure can
be LLC, Corporation, Sole Proprietorship, General Partnership, Limited Partnership, or
Nonprofit. A Business Start Date gives Idea the exact time in business; a range such as
"6 months - 2 years" is sent as under a year so it is never overstated. Average Monthly
Revenue is sent when it is a dollar amount.
* **Owner**: name, email, phone, date of birth, **SSN**, home address, and the requested amount
from the form. Idea Financial requires every owner with more than 20% ownership. This form
sends one owner; it does not collect additional owners yet, so expect Idea Financial to
need their details before pricing a business with more than one owner above 20%.
* **Documents** in the client's CRM record: a separate, verified **signed application** and
the business's **bank statements for the last three months**. The app sends the newest
statements on file, up to four. A bank statement is never used in place of the signed
  application.
* The client's most recent credit score, when a report is on file.

<Warning>If a business detail, bank statement, or the signed application is still missing, Submit stops with a message listing what to add. Nothing is sent until you fix it and try again.</Warning>

## After you submit

Submitting to Idea Financial from the contact page marks the contact as a **client**: a
Clients pipeline opportunity is created at **Agreement Signed** even though no funding
agreement has been signed. Every other path to Clients still requires the signed agreement.
If the opportunity could not be created, the page tells you and you can move the stage by
hand. An application the client finishes from the link does not move the stage yet.

The link works once. After Idea Financial receives an application for the contact, from the
link or from the contact page, opening the link again shows the client that the application
was already sent and nothing new is created. If a submit failed before anything reached
Idea Financial, the same link still works, so the client can retry after you fix the file. A
submit that stalls before anything is sent to Idea Financial stops blocking the link after 15
minutes. A request that could not reach Idea Financial at all (for example a network failure
on our side) releases the link right away. If a request did go to Idea Financial but no result
came back, the link stays used: check the application with Idea Financial, then submit from
the contact page if needed.

The client page shows **Application sent to Idea Financial** with the Idea application number
and Idea's current status for the file in the **Funding** tab, whether you submitted it or the
client did from the link. If a submit failed after Idea Financial had already opened the
application, the page shows a warning with the application number instead, so you do not send a
second one; the Funding tab shows what failed. The status refreshes on its own: once right after the submit, then
about every 15 minutes for up to 30 days. The banner says **Checked about every 15 minutes**
while that schedule is running, and shows when the status was last updated. The **Generate
Offers** button stays available if you also want marketplace offers for the same client, and
other lenders are never locked by an Idea Financial submit.

* **Check now** — asks Idea Financial for the current status immediately instead of waiting
for the next scheduled check. The banner shows **Checking with Idea Financial…** while the
check runs. This does not change the schedule.
* **Processing** — Idea Financial is working the file.
* **Offers ready** — Idea has priced the file. The banner shows how many offers came back and,
for each product, the largest amount — for example **Line of credit up to $150,000 · Term
loan up to $120,000**. **Open at Idea Financial** opens Idea's offer page in a new tab.
Review and accept offers there with your client; accepting an offer is not done in this app.
* **Funded**, **Closed**, **Declined**, **Not interested**, **Abandoned** — final states.
Idea's reason, when they give one, is shown in the banner. Once a loan exists the banner
also shows Idea's loan number and the disbursed (or drawn) amount. Scheduled checks stop
  here; **Check now** still works.
* Everything else Idea reports — **Draft**, **Submission incomplete**, **Conditional offer**,
**Closing**, **Contract ready**, **Contract out**, **Open**, **Dormant**, and so on — is shown
as Idea names it, and the scheduled checks keep running.

## If something goes wrong

The Submit dialog shows the reason in place. The message tells you which step failed and, when
Idea Financial rejected a field, what they said about it.

* **"Idea Financial is not turned on for this account"** — turn on the Labs card and try again.
* **"Idea Financial is not set up for this account yet"** — the connection has not been
configured. Turn the Labs card off to keep generating marketplace offers and contact support.
* **"Idea Financial needs the following…"** — add the listed details in **Business details**
or on the client's CRM record and resubmit.
* **"Could not save the business details to the CRM record"** or **"Could not add the …
field to this CRM account"** — nothing was sent to Idea Financial. Try again; if it keeps
failing, add the field to the account's CRM custom fields and resubmit.
* **"Idea Financial requires at least one bank statement…"** — upload the statements to the
  client's CRM record and resubmit.
* **"Idea Financial requires a verified signed application…"** — upload the signed PDF
to the client's CRM record as **Signed Application**, choose
**Verify Signed Application**, confirm the signed date, and resubmit. This verification
does not classify the lender application as a funding agreement. Rejecting the document
revokes its verification; review it and use **Verify Signed Application** again before
  resubmitting.
* **"Could not reach Idea Financial"** after **Check now** — the scheduled check will try
  again on its own.

Retrying after a failure creates a new attempt. If the failure happened after Idea Financial
had already created the application, the earlier record may exist in their portal too.

<Note>Idea Financial is for business funding. Cards and personal lending stay on their existing paths and are never sent to Idea Financial.</Note>
