# Labs (Early Access)

> Turn on Funding Machine features while they are still being built, and send feedback that shapes the finished version.

# Labs

Labs is where features live before they are finished. You get to use them early;
we get to hear what is wrong with them while there is still time to change it.

Find it under **Settings → Labs**.

<Info>
  Labs features are still moving. They can change, behave differently from the
  rest of the app, or be replaced by something better. Nothing you turn on here is
  permanent — turn it back off whenever you want.
</Info>

## What is on a Labs card

Each feature is one card:

* **What it is** — a short description of the feature.
* **What it changes** — the one line under the description tells you exactly
  what turning it on does, so nothing arrives by surprise.
* **Estimated release** — when we currently expect it to be generally available.
  It is an estimate, not a commitment, and it only appears once there is a date
  worth publishing.
* **The toggle** — on or off, for this account only.
* **Guides** — when a feature has published docs, the card links to them: the
  write-up, what changed recently, and the support guide. Links only appear
  once the docs exist.
* **Submit Feedback** — a subject and a message, sent straight to the team
  building the feature.

## Turning a feature on

Flip the toggle. The change applies to your account immediately, and only to
your account — turning something on here never affects another account.

Turning it off is the same toggle. Whatever the feature added goes away and the
app behaves the way it did before.

For example, [HELOC for Business](/operators/funding/heloc) ships through
Labs and is **on for every account by default**: your account gets the
prescreen, the Eligibility Confirmation form, and the HELOC workflow. Turn the
toggle off and the HELOC card on a client's page goes back to **Coming Soon**.
The same toggle turns it on again.

**New agreements setup** turns on automatically for newly installed accounts
once their **FM Processing Application** form is available. It sends the new
Capped / Non-Capped Client Agreements and includes the Processing Application
in the agreement step. Setup retries automatically while the CRM finishes
loading the account's form; no manual cutover is required. The CRM's verified
app-install notification starts setup even if account credentials arrive later.
Discovering an older account in the background does not turn this feature on.

Existing accounts keep their current setting. Their account admin can use this
toggle to switch after the form and both new agreement templates are present.
An explicit disable is preserved, including during setup retries or a reinstall.

## Why a feature might not be there

Two separate things decide what you see:

* **Visibility** — whether the card appears on your Labs page at all.
* **Enabled** — whether the feature is actually on.

They are independent, and your agency controls the first one. A feature that is
still going out to a small group will not appear for everyone, so an empty Labs
page usually means nothing new is open to your account yet, not that something
is broken.

Some agencies also manage Labs on their operators' behalf. If you can see a card
but cannot flip it, your agency has kept that decision — ask them to turn the
feature on for you.

<Note>
  Changing a Labs feature is an account-level change, so it is limited to account
  admins. Anyone on your team can read the page and send feedback.
</Note>

## Sending feedback

Use **Submit Feedback** on the card for the feature you are talking about. Say
what you did, what happened, and what you expected instead. Feedback attached to
a specific feature reaches the people working on it, which is the fastest way to
get something changed before it ships.
